Formed in
2007, the Niagara Frontier Atlatl Association invites atlatl and other
primitive skills enthusiasts from Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and
Wyoming Counties in Western New York to become members. The NFAA is a regional affiliate of the New
York Atlatl Association (NYAA).
The goals of the NFAA are
to:
· Promote the sport of atlatl and associated friendly competitions in the
Niagara Frontier Region
· Encourage its members to compete in atlatl competitions sponsored by
other NYAA affiliated associations
· Educate others about the role and function of the atlatl and dart as the
dominant primitive weapon system in New York’s prehistory
· Connect individuals in the Niagara Frontier Region who share a passion
for atlatl and other related primitive skills such as flintknapping, natural
cordage making, and primitive hunting
· Field a regional NFAA team to
compete in the New York State team atlatl championship
While no dues are necessary for membership
in the NFAA, all members are encouraged to
join the NYAA.
